Overview

Translator Mette Holm is deep into her work on Haruki Murakami’s first novel, *Hear the Wind Sing*, when a giant frog—two meters tall—appears at a Tokyo subway station. The Frog tails her, insisting she join its battle against the colossal Worm, a creature stirring from a long slumber, set to annihilate the world with pure rage. As Mette hunts for the right words to capture Murakami’s lonely, drifting characters, the line between what’s real and what’s imagined starts to dissolve.
