Jim Clark (March 4, 1936 – April 7, 1968) stands among motorsport’s most revered figures, a Scottish Formula 1 driver whose exceptional talent reshaped the sport. Raised on a farm in the Scottish Borders, Clark’s journey began in local races, where his natural smoothness and precision caught the eye of Team Lotus. Joining Formula 1 in 1960, he forged a celebrated partnership with Colin Chapman that produced two World Championships—first in 1963, then again in 1965, a season where he dominated by winning six out of ten Grands Prix.

That same year, Clark showcased his versatility by conquering the Indianapolis 500, becoming one of the few drivers to excel across disciplines. His calm composure, flawless control, and understated demeanor earned admiration from rivals and fans alike. Yet his brilliant career was tragically cut short on April 7, 1968, when a crash during a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim claimed his life, leaving the racing world in shock.
